Nihal Nazmi Zaki;

Abstract

Tuberculosis, only a few decades ago, was believed to be under control and decreasing in incidence, in both developed and developing countries. Its causative agent, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, its is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide may have killed more persons than any other microbial pathogen (Shampo and Rosenow, 2009).
Tuberculosis can occur at any stage of HIV disease, and its manifestations depend largely on the level of immune -suppression, the lungs are most commonly affected, with cough, fever, and respiratory signs along with radiographic lesions, often with cavitation (Gupta et al., 2007).
Drug use and injection drug use are important factors in the epidemiology of tuberculosis (TB) in developed and developing countries, and there is a triple relationship between pulmonary TB and HIV and drug users (addicts) (Story et al.,2007 ).
This study is prospective study for all patients diagnosed as positive pulmonary tuberculosis there were 151 cases (newly diagnosed)with or without positive HIV and addiction admitted at Abassia chest hospital during 6 monthes between October 2013 to March 2014.
