Abstract


Retinal vasculitis can cause retinal affection and visual impaim1ent. Retinal vasculitis can be either primary or secondary to systemic inflammation or infections, or, local inflammation or infections.


Primary retinal vasculitis includes Eales disease that 1s an idiopathic occlusive vasculopathy that affects peripheral retinal vasculature leading to retinal non-perfusion, extraretinal neovascularization and recurrent vitreous hemorrhage. It also includes frosted branch angiitis that is characterized by thick sheathing of the retinal vessels. Also, idiopathic retinal vasculitis, aPeurysms and neuroretinitis (IRV AN) that is characterized by numerous aneurysmal dilatations of the retinal and optic nerve head arterioles, neuroretinitis,
vitritis, and neovascularization.
