Abstract
Penconazole, a systemic triazole, is one of the commonly used triazole fungicides in many countries, which has a curative and preventive efficacy against powdery mildew. The current study was undertaken to investigate the potential protective effect of sesame seed oil against testicular damage induced by the oral penconazole intoxication in adult male Wistar rats. Sixty adult male rats were divided into six groups, a control group, sesame seed oil-supplemented rats (1 ml/kg body weight) for 90 days, rats intoxicated with penconazole at two different doses (30 and 60 mg/kg body weight, representing 1/20 and 1/10 LD50, respectively) 90 days, rats co-administered with sesame seed oil along with penconazole treatments.
