Abstract

Bassem Lotfy Salama Falts. Studies Effect of Prunning Pattern and Soil Mulching on Yield and Quality of Kitt Mango in New Reclaimed Lands. Unpublished Ph.D. Thesis, Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, 2017.
The present study was carried out during 2014 and 2015 seasons on Kitt Mango Trees to evaluate 4 models of pruning pattern (one-third, one-half, fully branch or without pruning) and 4 ways of soil (white plastic, black plastic, rice straw or without soil mulching) on vegetative growth parameters, chemical constituents, fruit set and yield, physical fruit properties and chemical fruit constituents.
Regarding vegetative growth parameters shoot length, shoot thickness and average number of leaves / shoot, leaf area and number of shoot / tree greatly affected with both pruning pattern and soil mulching and there interaction. The great significant effect in this respect was obtained with treatment of removing of one-third of branch and with white plastic of soil mulching.
Leaves mineral content including N, P, K, Zn, Mg and Fe were positively affect with both studied factors in both seasons
