IMMUNOLOGICAL STUDIES ON NEWCASTLE DISEASE VIRUS IN CHICKENS

Abstract


In the present study, dealing with using Megalo as immunomodulator with vaccination program in poultry was tested where three group of chicks were treated as flow:
Group A: Was giving Megalo in ration and vaccinated with both ND

and IBD viral vaccine.

- Group B: Was giving ration only and vaccinated with the same program of vaccination of group A.
- Group C: Was giving ration only and remain without vaccination as

control group.

- Serological studies were done for collected sera from each group periodically to estimate the humeral immune response against ND and IBD viruses, the results illustrated that:
Group A: That was vaccinateq with both ND and IBD virus vaccines and giving Magalo showed high antibody titers comparing with the group B that was vaccinated only.
- The protection percent against virulent ND and IBD viruses were recorded in each group, where the protection percent was 100% in group A that was giving Megalo, the protection percent in group B that vaccinated only was 60% while no protection was recorded in
