Quality of Life among Women With Cervical Cancer

Abstract
Aim of study:-

Research question:
• Does cervical cancer effect on quality of life?
Research Settings:-
This study was conducted at outpatient clinics of Eldemardash obstetric hospital and outpatient clinics of National Cancer Institution in Cairo (obstetric 2).
Subjects and sample:-
Convenient sample was used for consecutive six months from August 2016 to February 2017. Accordingly 30 women from Eldemardash obstetric hospital and 62 women from National Cancer Institution in Cairo.
Tools of data collection:-
Data were collected using the following tools:
Tool I: - structured interviewing questionnaire designed by investigator that include 3parts:
Tool II: - quality of life tool
The main findings of this study revealed that:
• An analysis of socio-demographic characteristics showed that the mean age of the women is 48.7 ± 3.1 years, 51.1% were living in rural area, 37% were high educated. Besides, 63% of studied sample had 1000 or more pounds per month, also 56.5 % were married, 62.8% of them have been married from 10 years or more.
• An analysis of quality of life of women with cervical cancer the study demonstrated that no one of women had high quality of life
• Regarding effect of cervical cancer on QOL the study revealed that, there was a statistically significant relation between psychological well-being, social well-being and sexual well-being and quality of life while no statistically significant relation was found between physical well-being and quality of life
Conclusion:
After conduction of the present study, the following was found:
The present study showed that that a minority of studied women with cervical cancer had good knowledge about disease. More than half of studied women with cervical cancer had adequate practice regarding the diseas
