There were 18 male patients (78.26%) and 5 female patients (21.75%); the. youngest was 19 years old while the oldest was 54 years old with an average of37 years, and all of the patients were ambulant without alking aids before their injury.

The right side (60.87%) was more affected than the left side (39.13%). Severe trauma was the commonest cause of injury (65.22%) while trivial trauma represents only (34.78%).

The fractures were classified according to garden's classification into undisplaced (Garden 1,11) (43.%) and displaced (Garden III, IV) (56.5%).

Spinal or General anaesthesia were used in this study and the operations were performed on the orthopaed operating table Closed reduction using Whitman maneuver was tried in all patients while open reduction was used in 3 cases (23%) where closed reduction failed to reduce the fracture.

Undisplaced fractures were fixed in situ with 2 cannulated screws while displaced fractures were fixed with 3 cannulated screws after they had been reduced into anatomical or slight valgus position.
