Abstract

Water is one of the most important sources of life. Water networks utilities plays a principal role in urban extension. GIS and modeling techniques develop appropriate solutions in environmental management of water network. Good practice of environmental management requires managerial change within a water utility organization, and the implementation of a comprehensive technical framework that enables water utilities to reach the essential target, that is to minimize the life-cycle costs of owning and operating infrastructure assets while maintaining required service levels and sustaining the infrastructure. This paper presents a case study of water system in greater Cairo, taking working area of Masaken Sheraton from El-Nozha district. This system provides water service to population of 34755 habitant through more than 110.00 kilometers of water distribution pipelines. It is believed that this technology paradigm shift is going to significantly improve the information management integrity, decision-making intelligence and operation efficiency over all the water company.
