Azza Abo Elhares Abd Eltwab;
Abstract
Medication administration is a key role for nurses in most practice settings. Nurses are accountable to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to safely and competently administer medications. When medication errors occur, immediate steps should be taken to safeguard clients, resolve issues. A supportive, no-blame culture encourages interprofessional dialogue, problem analysis and the development of preventive strategies. The facts of a medication error must be documented in a client‟s health record, including the medication administered, what happened to the client, corrective actions taken to safeguard 0the client, and follow-up monitoring (Collage of Registered Nurses, 2017) .
