Abstract
The thesis presents an analytical investigation of the flexural load capacity for tapered and straight beams with restrained compression flange and slender web. A Total of 96 non-linear finite element models have been established to study the ultimate strength as well as the vertical and horizontal deformations for the tapered and straight beams with restrained compression flange and slender web. Several parameters are studied; namely, beam shape, web slenderness ratio, beam length, and effect of stiffeners
