Synthesis of heterocyclic compounds derived from heterocyclic anhydrides

Abstract


Because of the wide pharmacological applications of2,3-pyridine and pyrazme heterocyclic compounds, the aim of this work is to synthesize new heterocycles contain pyridine or pyrazine moiety.

The studies in this thesis involved three main chapters:


Chapte•• 1:

This chapter includes an intensive survey about the synthesis and reactions of 2,3-pyridine, 2,3-pyrazine dicarboxylic acid anhydrides and N-phenylsulphonyloxy quinolinimide.

Chapte•• U:

Tl:tis chapter is devoted to the discussion of the original results canied out in tl:tis thesis.

When 2,3-pyridinedicarboxylic acid anhydride (1) was allowed to react with thiosemicarbazide and/or 2,3-diaminopyridine, it afforded 2-
( I ,4,5-trihydro-1 ,2,4-triazol-3-yl-5-thione)nicotinic acid (2) and/or 2-(2- pyridyl)pyrido[2,3-d]imidazole (3) respectively.

The action of some aminoacids namely glycine and 2-afninoiso­ butyric acid was also investigated to give with glycine two products, 2- (3-cmboxyl-2-pyridyl)-4,5-dihydro-oxazol-5-one (4) and 3-carboxyl-N­ picolinoyl glycine (5) and with 2-aminoisobutyric acid, N-nicotinoyl-2-
