Abstract
Background: Pain isan-unpleasant and a disturbing sensation that is attended by actualorpotentialtissuedamage.Themanagementofpainin dentistryencompassesanumber ofprocedural issues, starting from accurate diagnosis,properanesthesiatillanalgesicsandnarcotics.Primarypurpose for performing a root canal procedure is to relieve the dental pain. Unfortunately, certain aspects of the root canal procedure may introduceinterappointment pain in thesametooth that wearetrying to evaluateits related factor.
Aims:The aimofour studywastoevaluate the conceptof singlefilein comparisontomultiplefilesconcerningthefollowingprospective: Pain aftercleaningand shapingtreatment. Thedebris extruded apically.
Methodology:In vivopart,forty patientwithexposedmaxillary vitalfirst premolarsweredividedintogroupsaccording systemusedduring treatment (one shape&protaper)andthen aftercompletingcleaningandshaping,All patientswereevaluatedforpostcleaningandshapingpain by VRS(Verbal RatingScale)thatwas explainedtopatients.Thepatientscheckedina questionnaireindicatingtheintensity ofpain3timesat8h,24h,and48h interval.
Results:Thedatacollectedwerestatistically analysedusingtheanalysisof variance (ANOVA)andStudent– t test at asignificancelevel of P<0.05 .
Amountofdebrisdatashowedparametric(normal)distributionwhilePain
Evaluation datashowednon-parametric distribution.
Conclusion:There isadirectrelationbetweenamountofdebrisextrusion during cleaning andshaping andpostoperative pain.Multiplefiles systems resultinlargeramountofdebris extrusion in the preiapicalareawhichresults inahighpostoperativepain.WhateveristheNitirotary systemusedstill debris areextruded fromapical foramen and still our patients feel pain.
