NEUROSCIENCE AND COGNITION IN ARCHITECTURE: ENHANCING CREATIVITY AND PRODUCTIVITY IN WORKPLACES

Eman Essam-Eldin Abdel-Hafez Naguib;

Abstract

The thesis explores the interrelationship between neural/physiological responses, behavior and the physical work environment. A survey is used to list the spatial qualities, which architects according to their job duty, perceive to encourage their creative processing, as well as overall performance, in an attempt to reduce stressful negative health consequences, which influence satisfaction and productivity. A matrix for enriched architectural workplaces criteria is prepared, and explained in terms of the recommended design, the behavior/performance outcome and neural/physiological responses.
