Fecal Calprotectin in Exclusively Breastfed Infants versus Formula fed Infants

Abstract
A case control study was conducted on 90 infants, they were divided into 3 groups, Group A: including exclusively breastfed infants, Group B: including formula fed infants (on standard formula), Group C: including malnourished patients (on standard formula) (defined as az-score for weight-for-age (WAZ), length-for-age (LAZ) and weight-for-length (WLZ) z-score below −2.0 SD). At Ain-Shams university pediatrics hospital clinical nutrition clinic in the period between December 2015 and June 2016, Cairo, Egypt.
All infants were subjected to history taking emphasizing on Age, Sex, Demographic data, Perinatal and Neonatal Information as Mode of birth, Type of presentation; vertex or breech, Age of mother, Length of gestation, perinatal history, Previous Illnesses and hospitalization, Gastrointestinal and any recent contact with infectious diseases and detailed Nutritional history.
