Laparoscopic Procedure For Varicocelectomy

Kaled Nasser Fadle Ahmad;

Abstract

Varicocele is a bunch of dilated and tortuous pampiniform plexus of veins i.e. varicose veins in the spermatic vein.

Men with a varicocele who were treated by an operation had a significant improvement in postoperative sperm motility and partners had more pregnancies.

Diagnosis of varicocele is carried out by clinical picture, venography Doppler probe, contact thermography strips, thermometry, ultrasounds.
There is different lines of treatment including : A) Non operative treatment :
1- Conservative treatment.
2- Radiographic occlusion technique.

B) Operative treatment :
1- Inguinal and subinguinal technique.
2- Retroperitoneal ligation.
3-Microsurgical inguinal or subinguinal varicocelectomy with delivery of the testis.

Laparoscopic surgery is a new line of treatment of varicocele wich has many advantages as it decrease the postoperative discomfort, hospital stay and time of return to normal activity and it has more recommendation for varicocele patients.
