Association between Serum Uric Acid and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Abstract
This study is a case control study; was conducted on 60 patients with type 2 diabetes aged between 45-59 years. Patient were recruited from the outpatient clinics of internal medicine and endocrine of Shbeen El Kom Teaching Hospital and Insurance Clinic from February 2016 to July 2016.
All were selected from Menoufyia dwellers. They were divided into two groups:
Group 1:
30 patients with type 2 diabetes has peripheral neuropathy approved by nerve conduction test and matched as regard to age, gender, BMI, renal function as case group.
Group 2:
30 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus has no peripheral neuropathy approved by nerve conduction test and matched as regard to age, gender, BMI, renal function as control group.
