STUDYING RISK FACTORS FOR DEVIANT BEHAVIOR AMONG ADOLESCENTS AND A PROGRAM FOR INTERVENTION

Nevine Mohamed Hosni Nawar;

Abstract

The term deviant behavior covers a wide rage of acts, which vary from simple nuisance to serious violations of the social norms. Deviance is considered the product of many interrelated factors, with no factor individually explaining its occurrence. Proposals for prevention are based on the recognition of different risk factors and the comprehension of their complex interactions.

The present study was conducted to reveal the epidemiological features of deviant boys, investigate family-related risk factors, test the relation of psychological disorders to deviance, and examine the effect of a school-based, short-term intervention program on youths' behavior.
