Abstract


Physical exercise is known to have beneficial effects as regarding health particularly in older adults including improvements in blood pressure, diabetes, lipid profile, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and neurocognitive function. Regular physical exercise is associated with decreased mortality and age-related morbidity in older adults
Few reports are available concerning the effects of physical exercise on bone markers in a healthy aged population, even though the data obtained from bone marker based investigating methods would provide useful information for the design of therapeutic programs to improve bone health.
The current study was carried out to assess the effect of strenuous exercise on bone metabolism in elderly individuals.
