Abstract


Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic medical condition in which the pressure or tension in the arteries is elevated. It is often called the "silent disease" as it has no symptoms and can go undetected for years, damaging tissues and vital organs.
Chronic kidney disease is a slow, progressive, irreversible deterioration in renel function that result in the kidney 's inability to eliminate waste products and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.
High blood pressure (hypertension) can be related to chronic kidney disease (CKD) in a number of ways. Hypertension can independently cause CKD, contribute to its development in the setting of other potential causes or even be the result of CKD.Regardless of the circumstances; hypertension is present in approximately 80 percent of patients with CKD.
Aim of study:
The aim of study was to evaluate promoting health behaviors of the clients with hypertensive chronic kidney disease by using health promotion model through:
1- Assessing client's knowledge, risk factors and behavioral change strategies toward hypertensive and chronic kidney disease.
2- Identifying health educational needs for clients with hypertensive chronic kidney disease to promoting their behavior by using health promotion model.
3- Evaluating the effect of health promoting model to promoting behavior of clients according progress of health status and prevent deteriorate in stages of chronic kidney disease.
Hypotheses:
Promoting health behaviors by using health promotion model for clients with hypertensive chronic kidney disease will:
Improve and minimize condition of hypertensive with chronic kidney disease as nearly as possible and control of progress of stage's chronic kidney disease.
Research subjects:
A purposive sample of eighty two with hypertensive with chronic kidney disease were chosen over a period of six months; from out patients clinic of Ain Shams University. The selected clients must be eligible to meet the following inclusion criteria:
• Their age between 25 to 50 years.
• Treated with hypertensive medication for at least one moth and without change medication or dose.
• Don’t previously used exercise techniques (taking deep breaths and relaxing muscle).
• Free from other illness affecting their blood pressure
The clients were selected from the previous setting according to their agreement to participate and willingness to complete the program.
Tool of data collection:
For data collection fifth tools were used:
I. First tool: An interviewing Questionnaire; This tool is divided into two parts (Appendix A)
1- Part one: it was concerned with socio-demographic data as age, education, marital status and health
