FACTORS AFFECTING POWER QUALITY IN ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
AHMED YOUSSEF AHMED HATATA;
Abstract
This chapter described the main sources of the harmonics in power system networks. The harmonic sources are categories as:
Power electronic devices such as the line commutated converters, PWM converter, static VAR compensator, switched-mode power supplies and cycloconverters. The common models for the power electronic converters used in harmonic analysis are presented in the chapter. These models include current injection model, Norton equivalent circuit model, harmonic coupling matrix model, time domain model and frequency-domain model. The current injection models are the most common used model, but the time domain model is accurate than the other models.
