EVALUATION OF SOME RESISTANCE INDUCERS AGAINST THE ROOT-KNOT NEMATODE

AHMED SOLIMAN MOHAMED MOHAMED EL-NUBY;

Abstract

Results revealed that ten bacterial species achieved highly reduction% (R) in Meloidogyne incognita total population. Nematoxic compounds were isolated from the best four species (Bacillus brevis, B. cereus, Methylomonas methanica and Obesumbacterium proteus). Four chemicals; chlorosalicylic acid, nitrosalicylic acid, β-aminobutyric acid and salicylic acid achieved the highest reduction in nematode population. Adding chemical 3 days before inoculation was the most effective application time, double doses was more suitable than 1or 3, pre and post application which was proper method and achieved higher %R than pre-inoculation only. The highly suppressive effect in total population was recorded by prop, gibberellic acid, biohorme and benzyl adenine.

(Key Words): Meloidogyne spp, induced resistance, rhizobacteria, chemical inducers, growth regulators.
