Study oi Otologic Symptoms in Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Disorders

Abstract
This study was carried out on thirty patients came to the out patient clinic, Oral surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, seeking treatment for temporomandibular Joint disorders.
The incidence of different ear symptoms associated with TMD and the effect of TMD conservative treatment on different ear symptoms were studied.
By thorough clinical examination and history taking thirty patients
"twenty five females and five males" were selected.
Group A: (15 patients) (Myofosical Pain Dysfunction Syndrome) with ear symptoms (otalgia or tinnitus) 14 females and 1 male.
Group B: (15 patients) (Anterior disc displacement with reduction) with ear symptoms (otalgia or tinnitus) 11 females and 4 males.
All the patients were examined for the range of mouth opening, joint sounds, tenderness of the masticatory muscles and also intra oral examination.
Also all the thirty patients were subjected to the following detailed ENT history, thorough ENT Examination and basic audiological investigations include pure tone audiometry and impedancemetry includes (tympanometry and acoustic reflex)
