A DENTOFACIAL ANTHROPOMETRIC STUDY ON MATERIAL COLLECTED FROM SOME EGYPTIAN AND SUDANESE NUBIANS GROUPS

Abstract
The study of the dental and facial anthropometric measurements of living Nubians is at the moment based upon few published work. The mam purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare dentofacial measurements between Egyptian Nubians and Sudanese Nubians and to find out the correlation between some dental and facial measurements of the different ethnic groups.
About 180 adult Egyptian Nubians and Sudanese Nubians were selected from the students studying in Cairo with their ages range between
20-25 years. The samples had been driven from three tribes from the Egyptian Nubians, namely the Kenouz, the Fededji and the Arab, and a group of Sudanese Nubians from Wadi-Haifa. For every individual some head and facial measurements were taken using the Spreading and Sliding Calipers. Also, for each individual alginate impressions were taken for the upper and lower jaw using suitable impression perforated trays. Casts were poured immediately using the blue stone. These casts were used to perform some dental measurements.
The statistical analysis were done on the four ethnic groups for facial and dental measurements. The arithmetic mean (X), standard deviation (SD), standard error (SE), correlation matrix and the t-test were calculated.
