Synthesis and spectral studies of some metal complexes containing the pyridazinone moiety

Abstract
A large number of Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been studied because of their interesting and important properties. 4-Acetyl-5,6-diphenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone (ADP), its Schiff base ligand and its metal complexes have been studied. This field increased considerably because of the attractive observation of showing the ligand biological properties including antimicrobial and antitumor activities. For these applications, we are extending this field in synthesis of novel Schiff base complexes.
In the present work, the Schiff base ligand was prepared by the condensation of 4-acetyl-5,6-diphenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone (ADP) as starting material, with ethylenediamine in the molar ratio 2:1 to afford the corresponding Schiff base ligand.
