SYNTHESIS AND REACTIONS OF SOME STATIC 4H-3,1-BENZOXAZIN-4-0NES

Abstract
This benzoxazinone derivatives lila and b were obtained via the interaction of 4-(1-naphthylidene and/or 2-furylidene)-2-phenyl
.6.2-oxazolin-5-one II with anthranilic acid in boiling n-butanol. The
behaviour of this compounds toward nitrogen nucleophiles was studied, where compound Ilia was submitted to react with aromatic amines [namely, 4-methylaniline, 4-bromoaniline, and 2-amino pyridine], benzylamine, ethanolamine, and hydroxylamine hydrochloride afforded 2-substituted-3-(4-tolyl, 4-bromophenyl, and
2-pyridyl)quinazolin-4-one, 2-substituted acryloylamino-N-benzyl benzamide, 3-hydroxyethylquinazolin-4-one derivative, and 3-hydroxy quinazolinone derivative respectively. In tum 3-hydroxy quinazolinone derivative was reacted with acetic anhydride to give 3-acetoxy quinazolinone derivative.
