Measurement of Interleukin-10 in Bronchoalveolar Lavage from Preterm Ventilated Infants

Abstract

This study was done to measure IL-l 0 111 1.-1 pretcnn infants who were ventilated since birth till at least 2 weeks or more. We divided our patients into 2 groups (group I) consisted

of 7 preterms complicated with chronic lung disease , as they

,• need 02 supply at age of 36wk,. and (group II) which consisted

of 7 preterms without chronic lung disease and did not need 02 t age of 36wk.for each of these preterm infants we did IL-10 by ELISA technique in five bronchoalveolar lavage samples (on days 1,3,8, 11&12) taken during routine suction through endotracheal tube .The mean weight of group I&IJ were 1260.7gm and 1607.I gm respectively and the mean age were

29.7wk and 32.8wk respectively.
