RELATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS AND BLOOD GROUP TYPE TO THE RISK FACTORS OF ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE
Wafaa Ibrahim EL-Sayed Rasheed;
Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality in industrialized societies and is now emerging as a major health problem also in the developing countries. There has been an increasing evidence for the possible relation between environmental stress and cardiovascular disorders particularly ischemic heart disease. There is lack of data from developing countries where the occupational psychosocial environment is influenced by limited resources, technical difficulties, rapid urbanization and organizational problems.
This cross-sectional study was designed to investigate the relation between environmental occupational, non occupational factors of stress, as well as blood group type with some of the ischemic heart disease risk factors in order to suggest a health services program particularly aimed at a reduction of occupational stress and control of cardiovascular diseases especially ischemic heart disease.
