Abstract


Urinary incontinence is distressing common and costly condition in women. the prevalence of which varies between 5-40% of the female population, according to the age
group.

Stress urinary incontinence is the most common type of incontinence and accounts for approximately half of incontinence in all women. Although conservative treatment for stress incontinence might give temporary relief, definitive cure reqmre surgery.

The aim of the work is to compare the Bologna procedure and the classical treatment with anterior colporrhaphy and Kelly's suture in the treatment of patients with cystocele and genuine stress urinary incontinence, both clinically and urodymanically.

Our study was done in the urogynecology unit in Ain
Shams maternity hospital during the period from February
2003 to May 2005 and included 20 patients complaining of moderate or large cystocele associated with genuine stress urinary incontinence. •

All patients were assessed clinically and by urodynamic studies pre operatively, one day and one month post
operatively.
