HYPERTENSION IN CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE AND HAEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS
Hassan Soliman Mohammed Hamode;
Abstract
Systemic hypertension is present in the majority of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) and end stage renal disease (ESRD).
Hypertension is an important cause of ESRD, and an important contributor to progression of renal failure regardless of the underlying etiology of the original renal disease.
In haemodilaysis patients above the age of 65 years, more than 45 percent of the entire mortality can be attributed to cardiac and cerebrovascular disease. Hypertension IS an important risk factor for the development of these complications.
The ann of this work was to study whether pre or psotdialytic blood pressure was representative for the average interdialytic period.
