Medicolegal View of Malpractice crisis In obstetrics and gynecology

Abstract

The malpractice crisis became a famous problem in the last years, where the obstetricians and gynecologists have been particularly affected by the increase in the cost and numbers of medical malpractice claims in Egypt. There are three social goals of malpractice litigation: To deter unsafe practices, to compensate persons injured end to exact corrective justice. The malpractice crisis has had significant impact on obstetricians, gynecologists and the women who seek their services. The aim of this study is to detect the causes of medical malpractice such as professional negligence, professional misconduct and prevention of it.
