MITRAL RING MOTION IN ASSESSMENT OF LEFT VENTRICULAR FUNCTION IN ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE
Walid Abd-Elmoneem maamoon;
Abstract
The aim of this work was to assess the usefulness of the systolic excursion of the mitral annulus(AVPD) as an index of the left ventricular systolic function in patients with Ischemic heart disease.
50 individuals were included in this study. Every individual in this study was subjected to :
I) Careful history taking
2) Physical examination.
3) E.C.G.
4) X-ray chest.
5) Echo study.
6) Coronary angiography and ventriculography.
The systolic excursion of the mitral annulus was recorded by the use of 2D echocardiography ; The apical four-chambers and two-cahmbers views of the hemi were obtained. The magnitude of the systolic excursion of the mitral annulus corresponding to the septal, lateral, anterior and posterior walls of the L.V. were recorded from the highest point at the end of diastole to the most lower point at the end of systole, and the
