The Effect Of The Engineering Parameters Of The Threshers On The Seeds Quality In Different Cereal Crops

Abstract
Investigations on the seeds quality and evaluation of the performance efficiency of some stationary threshing machines for wheat and rice crops as influenced by drum speed, moisture content, feed rate and drum-concave clearance were carried out. The threshing machine performance was affected by grain damage, the grain loss and threshing efficiency.
The summary of this study is as follows: A-Perfonnance of threshing wheat:
1-The visible seed damage increases with cylinder speed. The lowest percentage of grain damage was obtained at 600 rpm, moisture-content 16%, feed rate 800 kglh, and 3.5 em cylinder-concave clearance.
2-The invisible seed damage was highly affected by the cylinder speed. Invisible grain damage increased with speed.
3- The lower invisible seed damage was obtained at the optimum
drum speed 600 rpm, moisture-content 14%, feed rate 1000 kand 2.5 em cylinder-concave clearance.
4-The invisible grain damage was higher (range 4.5-5 folds) as
affected by engineering parameters than visible grain damage.
