Abstract
Long-term complications of non-insulin-dependent diabetes, including retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy cause major morbidity and mortality. Many mechanisms have been •suggested to explain the pathogenesis of diabetic microangiopathies. However, the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy is not known.
