Study of Gamma Rays Emitted from Some Radioactive Nuclei

KHALID MOHAMMED MAGDY EL-WAFAEY HELLA;

Abstract

This work represents a study for the energy levels in 187Re , L-internal conversion coefficient of 210Bi and calculation of the K Capture probabilities ( Pk) for the decay of 133Ba to the levels 437 keV and 384 keVin 133Cs. It was found that:

1) The energies and relative intensities of (60) gamma ray lines were determined with a better accuracy.
2) Eight of these transitions with energies 12.96 , 79.63 , 143.66 , 158.84 ,

258.84 , 341.50 , 383.50 , and 469.81 keV were observed for the first time.
3) A new level at energy 604.71 keV was proposed • This level is populated by the new reported gamma ray transitions with energies
12.96, 79.63 and 258.84 keV and deexcited by the gamma ray transitions

with energies 16.08 keV and 92.63 keV which were previously reported but not placed in the decay scheme .
4) The log ft values for Jrdecay to levels in 187Re were calculated . The

calculated values for all energy levels were comparable with the previously reported data , while it has a smaller value for the 134.22 keV and 1220.83 keV energy levels.
5) The LX ray following the 13- decay of 210Pb has been measured using
high resolution Si(Li) detector .The energies and relative intensities for LX and gamma rays were determined with high accuracy than those measured before
