Abstract

Morus alba L. tree is one of the aging trees which grows practically in all parts of Egypt and in many temperate regions of the world.
The use of plants or plaP"' extracts for medicinal purposes has been going on for thousands of years.
To our kno\Yiedge till now, no clear evidence regarding the anti tumor activity ofMorus alba L. leaves could be traced. Thus, the present study was undertaken to investigate the extract efficacy on cancer using solid Ehrlich ascites carcionoma in mice. The present work comprises 6 main studies which are:
1-Chemical studies to extract the plant leaves constituents using a) ethanol 70°/o. b) aqueous extract. c) chloroform
Also, chemical analysis• of the effective extract
using GLC which revealed that the major component of the unsaponifiable fraction of . rhe chloroform extract was hexacosane (40.6°/o) while dodecane was the minor (0.165). Also, linolenic acid was the major component (54.1079) of the free fatty acid fraction while caproic acid was the minor (0.111°/o ).
