Abstract


Agents dependence is a major problem in all countries, a<> • from old times, humanbeings have looked for substances or have created methods to make life more pleasurable and to avoid or decrease pain, discomfort and frustrations for the purpose of changing his mood. So, the primitive man has looked for substances around him, particularly in the plant kingdom and his research led to the discovery of valuable medicinal plants many of them affect mind.

Bhang is well known a<; a hallucinogenic agent and its use IS increasing progressively allover the world as it is believed that it promotes spiritual growth,. enhance perception and opens up reality.

The aim of this work is to study the pattern of agents (substances) of dependence in Menoufiya Governorate with special emphasize on bhang as the most common used one through studying its toxic effects by detecting the cellular and biochemical changes of bhang administration to albino rats and evaluation of different methods for cannabinoids extraction and detection from bhang in different samples.

The present work was carried out in three parts.
