Effect of Three Impression Techniques on Complete Denture Retention in Mandibular Flat Ridge Cases (comparative study)

Abstract
Twenty one patients were selected for this study to compare between the effect of three impression techniques on retention of denture bases for mandibular flat ridges.
Patient were randomly classified into three equal groups:
The 1st group received dentures made by pressure impression technique utilizing ZnO/E (open mouth).
The 2nd group received dentures made by pressure impression technique utilizing ZnO/E (closed mouth).
The 3rd group received dentures made by functional and anatomic impression .• technique utilizing tissue conditioner impression material and rubber base impression material.
Forcemeter device up to 2000 gms. was used to measure the force required to dislodge the mandibular dentures from the basal seats.
