Lamiaa Ibrahim Mabrouk Mohammed;

Abstract

nterior segment OCT has become one of the corner stone in anterior segment surgeries. The provision of the role of AS-OCT as a noncontact imaging method is important and is regarded by some as the core method for diagnosis, follow up and treatment.
AS-OCT has made a tremendous progress during the last decade and the advances in the non contact imaging technology make AS-OCT has the upper hand not only as a preoperative or postoperative but also as an intraoperative imaging method.
High-speed swept source OCT (SS OCT), first reported in 2003, employs wavelength tunable lasers is a promising new modality for quantitative evaluation of the cornea. SS OCT provides improved imaging speed and higher sensitivity in comparison with previous OCT technologies
The application of the RESCAN 700 has been reported for anterior segment surgeries (corneal incisions, scleral closure phacoemulsification groove depth and intraocular lens position), riboflavin penetration in collagen crosslinking and retinal surgeries
With AS-OCT cataract surgery is developed as AS-OCT plays an important role in perfect preoperative evaluation by imaging of the lens, capsular bag a
