Abstract


Coronary artery revascularisation is a well-established procedure . throughout • ••the world. . The immediate success . of this .. procedure is related to surgical technique and the anatomical characteristics of the grafted coronary arteries. However, the long term • results are dependent on the types of grafts used. The modern era of myocardial revascularisation started in the sixties with the use of saphenous vein grafts by Johnson and Favaloro.


Increasing experience with postoperative follow up of patients after saphenous vein grafting has revealed significant incidence• of . saphenous vein • disease • postoperatively.
