STUDY ON VIBRIOSIS IN SOME CULTURED FISH IN EGYPT
Nabila Mohamed El-Bassiony Karkoura;
Abstract
The present investigation was planned to study the pathogenesis and characterization of Vibrio species isolated from naturally infected Mugil cephalus showing clinical lesions.
The major objectives of this study were:
a. Isolation of Vibrio species from naturally infected cultured Mugil cephalus.
b. Determination of the pathogenesis of V. ordalii in both Anguilla and
Oreochromis niloticus by estimation of the lethal dose 50 (LD50), as well as induction of infection experimentally.
c. Attempt to evaluate the vaccine that would effectively protect Anguilla anguilla against experimental infection with isolated Vibrio ordalii.
