EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION
WESAM BASSIONY AZAB AHMED;
Abstract
Troponin T is more sensitive than CKMB in the early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. This is because of the fact that Troponin T appears in the serum slightly earlier thanCKMB.
Troponin T increased to more than twenty times the upper normal level within the first six hours since the onset of pain m many cases, while CKMB did not exceed five times the upper normal level in the same interval in any case compared to Troponin T.
This high magnitude of Troponin T increase over that of ,
CKMB, in addition to that also its nearly absence from ,'
circulation nommlly give Troponin T the upper hand and •
'
make it more efficient in the diagnosis of acute myocardial•
