Abstract
Chronic liver disease has been shown to be associated with autonomic neuropathy as well as hemodynamic and circulatory disturbances.
Autonomic cardiovascular reflexes may contribute to the hemodynamic disturbances in cirrhosis. The mechanism of autonomic neuropathy, impaired adrenergic responses in state of portal hypertension remain speculative and are probably extremely complex. In this study 24 patients with liver cirrhosis and portal vein thrombosis how attained the Hepatology clinic new Children Hospital were included and another 10 age and sex matched children served as controls group.
