A Comparative and Correlative Study between the Clinical and Immunological and Electrolyte Findings in Saliva of Non Diabetic Versus Diabetic Egyptian Children

Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the onil health and the composition of saliva, as regards to glucose, electrolytes and immunoglobulin levels in diabetic versus non-diabetic Egyptian children and adolescents and correlate these findings to each other.
The study was performed on twenty controlled diabetic subjects who were selected from the out-patient clinic of "El Demerdash University Hospital". They had insulin Dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and were controlled by insulin therapy. The diabetic group were further divided into
2 age groups; "Diabetic Group Children" (DGC) with an age range from 3-6 years and "Diabetic Groups Adolescents" (DGA) with an age range from 10-14 years.
The control group consisted of twenty diabetes free subjects chosen from the same hospital. They were also further divided into 2 subgroups with the same age ranges.
