Abstract
alliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification, impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems like physical, psychosocial and spiritual. Palliative care is traditionally viewed as being the intense care of a patient who is close to death. In recent years, the scope of palliative care has expanded to include patients who may live for many years with end stage organ failure or cancer. Palliative care is activity related to terminal care, care of dying and end-stage. It seeks to provide a holistic approach, focusing not only on the physical symptoms of the disease, but also the psychosocial and spiritual needs, and extending these cares to the family and significant others. Care may be provided within an institution.
Aim of the Study
This study was aiming to assessing nurses' knowledge and perception toward palliative care for cancer patients.
This aim was achieved through answering the following questions:
1- Assessing nurses' perception toward palliative care for cancer patients.
2- Assessing nurses' knowledge and attitude toward palliative care for cancer patients.
