Abstract
Peptic ulcer is becotning n1ore common in tnany developing countries. Helicobacter pylori has gained interest in being the tnost important cause of peptic ulcer, accounting for 90% of duodenal ulcers and 70°/o of gastric ulcers. The repair of gastric n1ucosal lesion is a dynatnic event. HGF has been reported to be a potent tnitogen of various epithelial cells, including gastric tnucosal cells. HGF achieves its effect by binding to the C-n1et encoded protein which has been identified as its specific receptor.
The purpose of this work was to find out the role of gastric tnucosal hepatocyte growth factor in ulcer dyspepsia.
