CLIMATIC STUDIES ON IMPORTANT WEATHER PHENOMENA DURING AUTUMN SEASON IN EGYPT
Mohamed Ahmed Ragheb Seyam;
Abstract
This thesis comprises a recent study concerning climatic studies for the important weather phenomena during autumn season (September- November) in Egypt during the main period (1990-2001). This main period has been divided into two distinctive periods; period (1990-1995) and period (1996-2001).
The monthly data of the different meteorological elements measured during autumn season of the period (1990-2001) at 21 selected stations in Egypt have been studied and investigated. These elements are the air temperature (Maximum, Minimum, Mean, Dew point), Mean sea level pressure, Relative Humidity, Cloud amount, Rainfall amount and the number of days of several meteorological phenomena (rain, thunderstorm, mist, haze, raising sand, sand storm).
The results revealed that there are climatic changes in almost the meteorological phenomena over Egypt during autumn season. The climatic changes in the meteorological phenomena are outstanding mainly during the period (1996-2001). There is a temperature warming over Egypt during the period (1990-2001). In general, there are positive anomalies in the surface air temperatures. Also, there is a negative anomalies in the precipitation amounts over Egypt. In addition, there existed positive anomalies in the relative humidity, mainly over Lower Egypt. The above results indicated that the stability weather conditions are revealed almost the period of study. Whereas, there is existed an increase of the mist, fog and haze number of days mainly at the Lower Egypt during the period (1990-2001). This increase was outstanding during the period (1996-2001).
The present studies of the climatic feature over Egypt during autumn season (1990-200 I)
appear that there exist two outstanding phenomena. First one is the important weather
