SHOULDER INJURIES IN SPORTS

Osama Yacoub Gergis;

Abstract

The shoulder joint is a combination of joints, the purpose of which is to position the extremity in space.
The shoulder joint is a highly mobile joint and the mobility result

from the skeletal configuration and from muscular contributions.

Shoulder problems have became common in the over head athletes. They are susceptible to injury and dysfunction because of the repetitious, high velocity mechanical stress placed on their shoulder, often at extremes of glenohumeral motion.
The most important shoulder joint injuries in different sports are bony

injuries, shoulder instability and injuries presenting with shoulder pain.
