IMMUNOPHENOTYPING OF lYMPHOCYTES IN CML EGYPTIAN PATIENTS
FEEPY ZAKY ASSAD;
Abstract
This work aimed at studying phenotype of peripheral blood lymphocytes in chronic myeloid leukemia. The present work wascarried on twenty patients with chronic myeloid leukemia at time of diagnosis. All patients were referred from the out patient clinic of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo university.
All the studied group were subjected to the following:
1- Complete blood count.
2- Bone. marrow examination.
3- Cytogenetics for philadelphia chromosome.
4- Ultrasonic analysis and computerized tomography scan for the abdomen.
5- Immunophenotyping of lymphocytes by flow cytometry.
• Results of the work can be summarized as follow
1- There was highly significant increase in total leucocytic count m cases.
2- There was highly significant decrease in lymphocyte percent in
cases.
3- There was highly significant mcrease in absolute lymphocyte count in cases.
4- There was significant lower in CD3% (total T lymphocytes).
5- There was significant increase in CD4/CD8 ratio in cases.
6- There were no significant difference between cases and control regarding CD19%, CD16 +56+%, CD4% or CDS%.
7- CD3% HLA were 12.9 ± 1 0.1.
8- Blasts in bone marrow were 9.55 ± 4.36.
