Er ,Cr:YSGG LASER vs Diode LASER Biomodulation on Bone Surrounding ALL-on-4 implants Supporting Hybrid Immediately Loaded Maxillary Prostheses
Noha Mohamed El Hussieny Mohamed;
Abstract
This study was performed to evaluate the effect of Er,Cr:YSGG LASER biomodulation on the bone loss around All-on-4 implants immediately loaded with hybrid prostheses.
Fourteen patients were selected to share in this study from the out-patient clinic of prosthodontic department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain-shams University.
Patients were randomly divided into two equal groups.
Patients received four implants placed according to the All-on-4® concept.
Surgical radiographic guides fabricated from the dual scan imaging technique were used to guide implant placement.
Group A:
Sequential drilling was done in a regular manner.
Then osteotomy site was biomodulated using Er,Cr:YSGG (2790nm) LASER with a radial firing tip.
Group B:
Sequential drilling was done in a regular manner.
Then osteotomy site was biomodulated using diode (Medium InGaAsP) class IV LASER with wave length 940 nm.
Stability of the implants was measured using Osstell to ensure immediate loading was possible.
Provisional hybrid prostheses were delivered to the patient on the day of surgery.
