Assessment of Subendometrial Vascularity in Midluteal phase using 3D Power Doppler in Unexplained Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Sarah EL-Sayed Ahmed EL-Kashef;

Abstract

Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is defined as three or more spontaneous losses (not necessarily consecutive) (Lee et al., 2000; Kim et al., 2004).
RPL is classified into three different groups:
• The primary RPL group: consists of women with three or more consecutive miscarriages with no pregnancy progressing beyond 20 weeks gestation.
• The secondary RPL: group consists of women who have had 3 or more miscarriages following a pregnancy that progressed beyond 20 weeks gestation, which might have ended in live birth, still birth, or neonatal death.
• The tertiary RPL group: consists of women who have had at least 3 miscarriages that are not consecutive but are interspersed with pregnancies that have progressed beyond 20 weeks gestation (and might have ended in live birth, still birth or neonatal death) (Christiansen et al., 2005).
Pregnancy loss is classified in terms of developmental stages of gestation into:
• The pre-embryonic period: lasts from conception to approximately 5 weeks after the first day of the last
